The Community School of the Park Cities is a small preschool offering full-time and part-time child care for working parents. We offer programs for children aged six weeks to five years old.
Established 10 years ago, The Community School began as a school for parents of the Highland Park Independent School District and then opened to the general public after a year as a nonprofit school. The school is housed in a building that is nearly 100 years old, providing a cozy feel that helps parents feel comfortable leaving their young children in our care.
Our teachers are loving, caring, and well educated. They have either a college education or many years of experience working with young children. The average tenure of the full-time teachers at our school is two years, with many working with us for five or more years. Our non-profit status enables us to provide our teachers with opportunities for continued education and other benefits, which accounts for their longer tenure with us.
