The building that houses The Community School is as unique as our programs and leadership. Nearly 100 years old, the building is part of the homelike, comfortable environment children and parents enjoy at The Community School.
Originally built in 1916, the building has been operated as a school continuously since at least the 1950’s. In fact, we've heard from our parents that several of them, and even their grandparents, attended school in this building.
In 2000, contruction was completed to improve and modernize the main floor of the building. Then, in January 2007, we expanded our learning spaces to the downstairs area, allowing us to add one more infant room and one more toddler room to our program.
Today, we pride ourselves on the history and hominess of our building, knowing it plays an important role in making The Community School who we are.
