  • Kevin Bonfield (Chair): Kevin has had two children at the Community School; the eldest, Sydney, is now settling into Lamplighter and the younger, Lola, still attends Community School. Kevin is a principal at Concentre Group and has a technology background. He has served on the board since 2012.
  • Jeff Israel:  Jeff joined the board in 2016. He and his wife Allison have two boys that attend The Community School.  Dexter (preschool) and Cullen (Toddler 1), and Blake who is on his way to Infant II in a few months!  Jeff has been a strong supporter of The Community School in helping with our fundraising efforts for the teacher Holiday Bonus.
  • Taryn Pemberton Schmidt: Taryn has served on the board since 2013. As the System Director of Service Line Marketing for Baylor Scott & White Health, Taryn lends her marketing and public relations experience to the Community School board.
  • Lauren Van Wagenen: Lauren joined the board in 2015. She and her husband have two children who've attended the Community School, William (an alum, now at Lamplighter) and Brooks (Toddler II). As the Director of Investments for Avatar Investment Group, she focuses on fixed income portfolio management and private equity investing, and brings solid financial experience to the board. 
  • Stefan Zane: Stefan joined the board in 2016.  He and his wife, Erin, have two girls, Peyton and Lauren.  Peyton graduated in 2016 after having attended the Community School since she was an infant.  Lauren also has attended the Community School since she was an infant and is currently in Preschool.  Stefan is an attorney who focuses on representing financial institutions and developers in real estate and finance transactions.
