  • Kevin Bonfield (Chair): Kevin has had two children at the Community School; the eldest, Sydney, is now settling into Lamplighter and the younger, Lola, still attends Community School. Kevin is a principal at Concentre Group and has a technology background. He has served on the board since 2012.
  • Joel Haden (Treasurer): All three of Joel's children attended Community School since infancy and are now at Dallas International School. Joel is a managing director at Accenture and has served as treasurer of the board since 2011.
  • Heather Kraft: Heather is an attorney practicing in Lakewood in the areas of family law, bankruptcy law, business, banking law, probate law, estate planning, personal injury law, and real estate law. She has two daughters that attend Lakewood Elementary. Heather joined the board in 2013.
  • Kelly Milazzo: Kelly is a former and long-term parent leader at the Community School and joined the board after handing over the parent leader responsibilities in 2013. She is mother to Sophia, who attended Community School since infancy and is now at Lakewood Elementary.
  • Taryn Pemberton: Taryn joined the board in 2013 and brings a strong background of 12+ years in health care marketing and communications. She currently serves as the North Texas system director of service line marketing for Baylor Scott & White Heath.
  • Tracey Roden: Tracey brought an early education expertise complement to the board when she joined in 2014. She is a masters-trained former kindergarten and first-grade teacher and current vice president at iStation, an industry leader in providing innovative teaching support solutions. She has a daughter who currently attends Community School.
  • Lauren Van Wagenen: Lauren joined the board in 2015. She and her husband have two children attending Community School, William (preschool) and Brooks (Infant II). As the director of investments for Avatar Investment Group, she focuses on fixed income portfolio management and private equity investing, and brings solid financial experience to the board. 
  • Jeff Israel:  Jeff joined the board in 2016. He and his wife Allison have two boys that attend The Community School.  Dexter (preschool) and Cullen (Toddler 1), and Blake who is on his way to Infant II in a few months!  Jeff has been a strong supporter of The Community School in helping with our fundraising efforts for the teacher Holiday Bonus.
